Community Foundation to Offer Grant Writing Workshop
Mark your calendar and get your space reserved for our first workshop of 2016 on Friday, February 19th from 8:30 AM to noon at the Seniors West of the Tetons Community Center. This half day Grant Writing workshop, led by Foundation Executive Director Carrie Mowrey, will provide participants with the tools and knowledge to identify and plan for funding sources, write a compelling grant proposal and navigate the Community Foundation’s 2016 grant program and application process.
“Through the generosity and support of our Challengers and other private donors, we are able to provide our nonprofit community with workshops in best practices that help to build strong organizational foundations while encouraging continued education for nonprofit staff,” said Carrie Mowrey, Community Foundation of Teton Valley Executive Director.
Mowrey has been involved with the Foundation since 2012 and has served as the Executive Director since 2014. With her keen understanding of grants and her in-depth knowledge of the Community Foundation’s grant program specifically, participants will leave this workshop with a better understanding of the various funding available for nonprofit organizations including the 2016 Community Foundation Grants Program. “Navigating the grant process and the variety of grants available can be a daunting task. We want to provide local nonprofit representatives with the information they need to not only submit a successful grant application as part of our grant program, but also to alternate grant funding agencies,” said Mowrey.
The Grant Writing workshop is being offered at a cost of $10 per participant with all nonprofit staff and board members intending to participate in the Community Foundation’s 2016 Grant Program encouraged to attend. Light refreshments will be provided. Space is limited so please reserve your spot by Tuesday, February 16th at 5 PM via email to dbanks@cftetonvalley.org or by calling (208)354-0230.
