How to Give Through the
Tin Cup Challenge

2025 Giving Period is June 13 — July 25.

There are two key ways to give: as a Tin Cup Donor and/or Challenger. Tin Cup Donors provide designated gifts to the nonprofits they wish to support. Challengers contribute undesignated funding that partially matches funds raised by participating organizations, significantly boosting the impact of each dollar raised. Both ways of giving are vital.

What is a Tin Cup Donor?

One in four households contribute through the Tin Cup Challenge in Teton Valley. Donations vary in size and originate from every corner of our community, driven by a collective commitment to philanthropy. By donating during the Giving Period, the impact of each designated gift is amplified with additional funding provided by Challengers and Friends of the Match in the form of a partial Match Grant.

Donating is simple! Choose your favorite nonprofits, decide how much you want to contribute to each, and make one tax-deductible donation to the Community Foundation for the total amount. Gifts of all sizes are appreciated and contribute to a significant collective impact.

Tin Cup Challengers

What is a Tin Cup Challenger?

Challengers are a special group of individuals and businesses who donate to the Challenger Fund. These gifts are not earmarked for specific nonprofits, but are used to match the community’s donations. Challengers generously give at levels of $1,500+.

Challengers’ generosity inspires increased community giving and is key to Tin Cup’s success. Challengers can proudly call themselves community leaders who promote charitable giving and intrinsically value philanthropy. Combined with community-wide efforts, they highlight the tremendous work of local nonprofits and appreciation of that work.

Volunteer

To make the Tin Cup Challenge a success, more than 200 volunteers are needed before, during, and after the event. Thank you to all the volunteers who give of their time each year!

Tin Cup Captains

The Community Foundation is deeply grateful for the 636 volunteer hours that make the Event Day possible. At the core of our volunteer powerhouse are our Tin Cup Captains. In partnership with the our Program Manager, this team works tirelessly throughout the summer to plan and execute Event Day. Thank you to the Tin Cup Captains for their time, talent, and commitment to community.
